The Film Department has been operating for over two decades as part of the Midrasha School of Arts, located in Kalmania, a pastoral farm near Kfar Sava. This is the only academic department in Israel that grants its graduates a bachelor's degree and a multi-age teaching certificate in filmmaking. The core of the studies is the practical field, which is supported by broad theoretical studies, which together provide in-depth tools for fostering independent creativity. The graduates' work portfolio, which includes social documentary work and participation in international projects, has brought the graduates of the department, over the years, to many achievements and awards both in Israel and around the world.
The heterogeneous profile of students, following the location of the film department creates an intimate and multicultural learning space in which the students operate with a true comradery and partnership.
